Marcea has been leading a small group of us in the art of quilting. We were making table runners as our first project. I decided to make two table runners - one for my sister in law and one for us out of the fabric I purchased. Erica's, a quilt and sewing store for over 40 years in our area closed so I purchased enough material for this project and so much more! I had the table runners quilted through Stone Soup, another local shop. Here are my finished projects.

Pillowcases for Grands and Grand Nephews/Nieces
Hard to believe summer is almost over but I have been sewing a bit. Pillowcases seemed to be the 'hot item' this summer as I made four Dinosaur Train pillowcases and four mermaid pillowcases for our grandchildren and other families. We have an incredible opportunity to spend time over the Fourth of July at a HUGE log cabin on Lake Wisconsin. Beautiful with so much to do. It was wonderful spending time with family and my gift was the pillowcases to all of the youngest going. Here are the finished projects - easy and fun to make.

Paper Crafting and Quilting for 2018
2018 has begun with old and new crafts for me. Paper Crafting will still continue to be a passion but now I have added 'way too many' new ideas and fabrics to do sewing and quilting projects. I have not sewed in decades so I have started out with a few simple projects such as pillows and pillow cases.
I attended a quilting retreat back in December and completed the pillow cases for grandchildren and one Christmas tree quilt. I will post them in coming posts. Today, I am posting Pocket Book Pillows that I am giving to our grandchildren for their birthdays this year. The idea of the Pocket Book Pillow is that each time we visit, I will slip a book into their pillow pocket and when we leave, I will do the same. Here are the four pillows done in Laurel Burch's amazing fabrics.

Directions of how to sew a pocket 'Book" pillow can be found here on Youtube. This is a beginner sewing project that can be completed in a day. Enjoy!
